Now that we spend our free time inside our homes, one of the activities we have been driven to is cleaning. Therefore, one of the most common questions is whether we have to clean our jewelry , and the answer is very simple: yes!

When jewelry is dirty from daily use, it is best to clean it once a month, since traces of sweat, perfume or creams can damage the metals, especially those of jewelry that has a bath. You just have to follow these steps to clean them!

  • Immerse your jewelry in a container with warm water and neutral soap (some people recommend dishwasher soap, but neutral soap ensures that it does not damage the materials).
  • Let it sit for a few minutes and, if necessary, scrub them with a soft-bristled toothbrush (children's, for example) to clean them.
  • Rinse them with clean water and dry them gently with a linen or cotton cloth, so as not to leave traces or scratch the jewelry.
  • If you were thinking of using alcohol or hydrogen peroxide since they disinfect, do it only to clean the nuts of the earrings and dilute the formula well in water. Never use bleach, whiteners, chlorine, degreasers, cleaners or anti-limescale, as they damage the metal, finishes and can discolor your jewelry.
  • If you think it is not necessary to wet them, as is the case with pearls since they are more sensitive to chemicals or jewelry with rose gold plating, simply clean them with a chamois cloth, rubbing very carefully. You will have your jewelry shiny and like new!
