"Now that we spend our free time inside our homes, one of the activities we have been led to is cleaning. Therefore, one of the most common questions is whether we need to clean our jewelry, and the answer is very simple: yes!"

When jewelry is dirty from daily use, it is best to clean it once a month, as residues of sweat, perfume, or creams can damage the metals, especially those of jewelry that have a coating. Just follow these steps to clean them!

  • Submerge your jewelry in a container with warm water and mild soap (some people recommend dish soap, but the mild one ensures we don't damage the materials).
  • Let it rest for a few minutes and, if necessary, rub them with a soft-bristled toothbrush (children's, for example) to clean them.
  • Rinse them with clean water and gently dry them with a linen or cotton cloth, so as not to leave any trace or scratch the jewelry.
  • If you were thinking of using alcohol or hydrogen peroxide since they disinfect, do so only to clean the earring nuts and by properly diluting the formula in water. Never use bleach, whiteners, chlorine, degreasers, cleaners, or descalers, as they damage the metal, the finishes, and can discolor your jewelry.
  • "If you think it's not necessary to wet them, as is the case with pearls since they are more sensitive to chemicals or jewelry with rose gold plating, simply clean them with a cloth, rubbing very carefully. You'll have your jewelry shining and looking like new!"
